5-Day Ramadan Quran Challenge
Every year, I choose a set of verses about Ramadan and write them in my Qur’an Journal, both in Arabic and English. This simple act softens the heart, increases focus, and helps me enter Ramadan with intention and clarity.
I invite you to join me in this spiritual habit through the 5-Day Ramadan Qur’an Challenge — a gentle, meaningful activity you can do with family, friends, your halaqa group, or your older children.
Take your time. You don’t have to complete one verse per day. Move at the pace that works best for you — the purpose is to reflect, not rush.
Let’s begin, bi’idhnillah.
๐ผ Day 1: Surah Al-Baqarah 2:183
“O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may attain taqwa.”
Prompt:
Copy this verse into your Qur’an Journal in Arabic and/or English.
Reflect on: What does taqwa mean to me? How do I want fasting to transform my heart this year?
If you’re doing this challenge with others, you can invite everyone to share a photo of their journaling with the group.
๐ผ Day 2: Surah Al-Baqarah 2:184
“(Fasting for) a fixed number of days. But whoever is ill or on a journey — then let them fast another number of days. And upon those who are able to fast with hardship — a ransom of feeding a poor person…”
Prompt:
Journal this verse and reflect on:
What does Allah’s mercy and flexibility in fasting teach me? How can I show mercy to myself and others this Ramadan?
Share your reflections or photos with your group if you’re doing this challenge together.
๐ผ Day 3: Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185
“The month of Ramadan is the month in which the Qur’an was revealed — a guidance for people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion…”
Prompt:
Journal the verse and consider:
How will I make the Qur’an a source of guidance for me this Ramadan? What is one small habit I can commit to?
Take your time — the goal is meaningful reflection.
๐ผ Day 4: Surah Al-Baqarah 2:187
“Eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread of night. Then complete the fast until nightfall…”
Prompt:
Write this verse and reflect on:
What does discipline in fasting teach me about patience, self-control, and boundaries? How will I protect my heart this Ramadan?
If doing this challenge as a group, share journaling photos or insights.
๐ผ Day 5: Surah Al-Qadr (Surah 97)
“Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree… The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months…”
Prompt:
Journal the entire Surah and reflect on:
What blessings of Laylatul Qadr am I hoping for this year? How can I prepare my heart for this night?
This final day helps deepen your connection to the heart of Ramadan.
✨ Conclusion
Alhamdulillah — you’ve completed the 5-Day Ramadan Qur’an Challenge!
By reflecting on these verses, you’ve prepared your heart for the most sacred time of the year. You’ve reminded yourself of the purpose of fasting, the mercy of Allah, and the immense spiritual gifts hidden within Ramadan.
May Allah allow us to reach Ramadan with health, sincerity, and hearts filled with Qur’an. May He make the Qur’an the light of our homes, the healing of our hearts, and our companion in this life and the next. Ameen.
